Are You a Caregiver?

We see caregivers as an asset that should be cultivated
as opposed to an expense that can be reduced.”
-Jeffrey Fry

This quotation is a core value of Keep Safe Care and is so important to how we approach the private duty business, that we put it as the first item on our Policies and Procedure document. It is simple, Keep Safe Care wants to change the paradigm in caregiving, and it all starts with the individuals doing the important work – you – the Caregiver. As managers and founders, we understand hard work and we strive for making things better, not only for ourselves, but for those who work with us. We believe in doing more than what is expected because it is the right thing to do.

Part of this change comes from first and foremost in how we see our relationship with caregivers. Most private duty agencies try to maximize their profits, often to the detriment of caregivers. Instead, Keep Safe Care uses operational efficiencies to eliminate unnecessary costs, and as such, we can afford to pay you more. So, our gain is your gain. The savings we get from the deployment of our software in recruiting, curating, and management of caregivers allows us to pay you higher than the industry average.

Secondly, we see you as a partner in making this change in the caregiving industry work. While many in the industry categorize caregivers as non-skilled labor, we do not. Instead, we feel all caregivers are skilled. Some offer care in a clinical environment while others offer care in the home, but the work still requires a set of learned care skills as well as the ability to care for others.

Keep Safe Care is different from other private duty agencies in that we ask you if you would like to work with a particular client. If you do not feel comfortable caring for that individual, we will not place you there. Being involved with your own job placement is a completely different approach in the private duty industry.

Keep Safe Care takes a team approach. We have open communication line for you to let us know how we can improve. At times, we will ask you for your inputs and insights in how we can make Keep Safe Care a great place to work. We feel strongly that the only way we can improve, is to get honest and prompt feedback, from you, our customers and partners

Keep Safe Care empowers caregiving – and that means you. In addition to paying a higher than market wage that is commensurate with your skills, we believe strongly that Caregivers are the backbone of our success.

How We Treat Our Caregivers

“We see caregivers as an asset that can be cultivated as opposed to an expense that can be replaced.”

This quotation is important for a number of reasons, but the primary one is because we want to employ caregivers who not only give superior, quality care, but who are reliable, dependable, courteous, trustworthy, and kind. The only way Keep Safe Care will attract and keep highly motivated and engaged caregivers is to treat them with respect, consider them as part of the team, pay them higher wages, empower them to make choices in their jobs and careers, and to offer training to advance their caregiving career.

While most agencies say they have great caregivers and boast about their quality, compassion, reliability, and experience; the industry average for turnover has risen to 83% and truancy (no-shows) is 25%. This begs the question: If these agencies treated their caregivers so well, why is there so much turnover and absenteeism?

So, how does Keep Safe Care combat these horrific truancy and turnover rates with caregivers? It starts with our caregivers and partners. We are passionate about treating our caregivers like responsible adults and giving them the tools to deliver great care. Secondly, Keep Safe Care strives to pay our caregivers substantially more than the industry average and we take less in profits from our clients. In small words, we are less greedy, or maybe, more generous. Finally, Keep Safe Care is constantly training our caregivers to improve their skills and value in the caregiving marketplace.
The result: better, more reliable, dependable, consistent care for you; better, happier, more committed caregivers for us.

Taken in combination, Keep Safe Care has reduced both truancy and staff turnover to under 5% and has become the Gold Standard of caregiving in America.
